Popspotting #214: “Jayhawks on The Wall” (Feb. 16, 2012)
Today’s PopTalk & Trivia guest is Mike from Virginia, a long-time “LOST” fan (his license plate is “STILOST”) and Transmission listener (since October 2005) and a huge TV and music fan. His picks included Roger Waters’ “The Wall Live” tour for 2012, “Music From the North Country: Jayhawks Anthology,” and several female singer-songwriters: Shelby Lynne, Allison Moorer, Tift Merritt, Brandi Carlile, and Susan Greenbaum, a personal friend who just released her new album, “This Life.”

What fun it was to hear Mike talking about his experience seeing Roger Waters’ The Wall tour in 2010.Â
I saw the show when it passed through Dallas late that year, and it was just tremendous – certainly one of the best concerts I have ever seen, but then again I have a smaller pool to choose from than does Mike.
Like Mike, I was sure it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But with the announcement earlier this year of the 2012 North American Tour, I “have to go back.”
This time, I’m traveling down to Austin to see it in early May, and then visiting my home town of Louisville, Kentucky to see it again in June.
Good times.
Great job Mike – i’ll check out your recommendations…
Mike knows a lot of good stuff, he might need his own show. Cheers!Rx
I saw it last weekend at Wrigley Field in Chicago and I never thought I’d say these words, but it’s even better in a stadium. Â I’m looking forward to Yankee Stadium in July!
